Dental Exams

The foundation of preventive dentistry and a vital part of maintaining complete health, comprehensive dental exams allow Dr. Gregory to detect oral health complications as early as possible.

Dental Hygiene

During the hygiene visit, Dr. Gregory and his staff will update patient medical and dental history, measure and examine gums, and complete an oral cancer screening. During screenings, any necessary radiographs or panoramic x-rays will be taken to ascertain tooth health and position, as well as to check bite alignment.

The hygienist will clean and polish patient’s teeth using the Cavitron and a sonic scaler. After cleaning, customized oral hygiene instructions will be given to help maintain proper oral health between visits.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer can be difficult to detect in its earliest stages. Because it can grow without producing pain or easily recognized symptoms, Dr. Gregory performs an oral cancer screening at every visit.

Gum Disease Therapy

Studies clearly show direct links between periodontal disease and serious health issues. Because one of the dangers of this disease is its frequent presentation without symptoms, Dr. Gregory and his staff encourage regular periodontal screenings. Fluoride Treatments

At the practice of Dr. Victor Gregory, Fluoride treatments are recommended at every visit for children up to age 18. Early Fluoride treatments help prevent childhood tooth decay and strengthen growing teeth. For adult patients, Fluoride treatments are implemented based on the patient’s individual needs.

Mouth Guards

Most dental injuries occur because children have failed to wear a mouth guard during sports or are wearing an improperly fitted one. Dr. Gregory custom creates every mouth guard for ideal fit, comfort and safety.

Nightguards/Occlusal Guards

Clenching and grinding, also known as Bruxism, can cause structural tooth damage such as abfraction, or the notching of the tooth at the gum line; wearing; chipping; and cracking. Patients who suffer from Bruxism may also endure headaches or jaw pain. To ease this discomfort and protect teeth from costly damage, Dr. Gregory can create a custom-made nighttime tooth guard.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Treatment

Snoring is often a sign of sleep apnea, a condition in which a person will stop breathing, sometimes hundreds of times a night. This cessation of breathing can cause a variety of disruptive and dangerous symptoms from chronic daytime sleepiness to mood disturbances and impaired memory. Dr. Gregory will work with a local sleep center or pulmonary specialist to diagnose and treat sleep apnea. Many patients who have mild to moderate sleep apnea, or who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine, find relief from Dr. Gregory’s custom fitted TAP appliance, a comfortable mouth guard that holds the jaw slightly forward, preventing airway collapse or obstruction.
