Restorative & Implant

Dental Restorations

Advancements in dental restorations are allowing patients to enjoy stronger, more attractive smiles.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Dr. Gregory uses only safe, strong, and attractive materials when restoring patients’ teeth. For this reason, he repairs cavities with tooth colored fillings rather than metal amalgams.

Crowns

Dental crowns are used to repair and restore larger areas of decay or damage for which tooth-colored fillings or dental bonding will not suffice. The crown covers and strengthens the natural tooth. Dr. Gregory employs a variety of materials, based on the location of the repair and patient needs, including porcelain, ceramic, and zirconia.

Bridges

Dr. Gregory can replace missing teeth using dental bridges. These bridges include a false tooth or teeth permanently placed between the healthy teeth. They can be supported by implant posts or cantilevered on remaining teeth. The bridge is held in place by porcelain crowns, creating a bridge over the gap.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are the premier solution for missing teeth, allowing patients complete freedom to eat what they’d like, speak with confidence, and never worry about denture slippage or pinching. The procedure involves the surgical placement of Titanium screws to replace the tooth’s root and a porcelain crown to replace the chewing surface of the tooth.

Depending on the case, Dr. Gregory may choose to place the implants himself or refer to an oral surgeon or periodontist.

Root Canals

When a tooth becomes abscessed or infected, it must either be removed or receive root canal treatment. Dr. Gregory prefers to begin, when possible, with a root canal treatment in an attempt to save the natural tooth. Patients usually experience immediate relief from pain and enjoy the continued use of their natural tooth.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Gregory’s primary focus is the preservation and restoration of natural teeth, but on occasion, a tooth must be extracted. In these cases, Dr. Gregory will discuss what the procedure entails, the options for replacement of the tooth, and whether or not the procedure will be performed by Dr. Gregory or referred to a trusted specialist.

Ridge Preservation

Dental implants require intact bone tissue, yet each time a tooth is lost, bone begins to be resorbed into the body and is diminished. This is why Dr. Gregory recommends ridge preservation as an adjunct to every tooth extraction.

Ridge preservation allows Dr. Gregory to rebuild and stabilize bone where an extraction has left an empty socket. After tooth extraction, grafting material is placed in the socket in order to actually regrow the bone. The procedure is minimally invasive, and there is minor discomfort involved. Once healing is completed, the dental implant process can begin.

Full Mouth Restoration

Full mouth restoration uses a combination of procedures to bring any mouth– no matter how damaged – back to health and strength. Full mouth restorations may include a variety of procedures from periodontal treatment to implant placement. Each full mouth restoration is carefully customized and includes a treatment plan designed to help patients regain health at a pace that is comfortable and achievable.
